Software Updater para mantener los programas siempre actualizados
El sistema operativo que uso actualmente como principal en todas mis PC’s es Linux Ubuntu que, al igual que otras distros, incluye un sistema que verifica automáticamente las aplicaciones que tenemos instaladas y las mantiene siempre actualizadas.
Pero que pasa con las personas que utilizan El sistema operativo de Microsoft? Software Updater es un programa gratuito para Windows que analiza el software que tenemos en nuestra PC y nos avisa cuando existen versiones nuevas para instalar.
Su utilización es muy simple: una vez lo instalamos solo tenemos que ejecutarlo y luego presionar el botón “Escanear” para obtener un listado con las actualizaciones disponibles listas para instalar.
Si duda es una excelente forma de mantener nuestra PC más segura, ya que en la mayoría de los casos, las actualizaciones además de agregar nuevas funciones a los programas, reparan problemas de seguridad ecnontrados en las versiones anteriores.

Aplicaciones de Windows Vista
1. SAGE TV
Sage hace lo mismo que TiVo, pero en una PC. Por el momento no es el lugar ideal.
2. PRECLICK
Ofrece un software para manejar fotos elegante, fácil de usar y gratuito; pero Vista también lo tiene.
3. CYBERLINK
Su aplicación PowerDirector para editar video es muy lenta. Ahora, CyberLink también se enfrenta al nuevo y mejorado Windows Movie Maker.
4. COPERNIC, Xl Y LOS DEMÁS
Por fin Windows ofrece herramientas de búsqueda de escritorio muy útiles. Buena noticia, a menos que seas el fabricante de un producto de búsqueda de escritorio.
5. REALNETWORKS
La competencia se vuelve más agresiva para Rhapsody. Ahora, Windows Media Player funciona con la tienda URGE.
6. MCAFEE, SYMANTEC Y LOS DEMÁS
Sí, Microsoft competirá por el núcleo del Vista con estos proveedores de seguridad para combatir el malware. Pero la verdad es que MS también es un proveedor de seguridad y ofrece una suite para Vista.

WipeFile elimina archivos para siempre
Seguramente muchos de ustedes saben que cuando eliminamos un archivo en Windows, no lo estamos borrando definitivamente (así los borremos de la papelera). Por eso hay programas que nos permiten recuperar de nuestro disco esos archivos que borramos por accidente.
Pero que pasa con nuestros archivos cuando regalamos o vendemos nuestra PC? No creo que ninguno de ustedes quiera que los nuevo s “propietarios” tengan acceso a sus viejos archivos, fotos, documentos, etc.
Por suerte existen aplicaciones como las que les traigo hoy, que nos serán de gran ayuda en estos casos.
Les estoy hablando de WipeFile, una aplicación gratuita para Windows con la que podremos eliminar cualquier tipo de archivo de manera definitiva.
WipeFile cuenta con 14 métodos diferentes para borrar nuestros archivos. Además podemos realizar búsquedas filtrando los resultados por el nombre del archivo o por su extensión.
Y si lo que queremos es borrar un disco completo o una partición, podemos utilizar WipeDisk, un programa gratuito de los mismos autores de WipeFile.
